Welcome from the Vice President for Conferences

Conferences are an important part of any IEEE society as they facilitate sharing research and ideas with peers and help establish career-building personal connections that can last a lifetime. Research that is presented at our conferences can be extended for submission to IEEE CIS's top-tier journals. We hope that you will join us by attending our many conferences! Please access our Conference Calendar webpage to check the list of approved conferences.

Every IEEE CIS conference is organized by volunteers and staff who work hard to arrange these forums, and we are always thankful for their excellent work. The IEEE Conference Committee (Confcom) is eager to receive proposals for conferences in 2025 and 2026. If you are interested in supplying a proposal, please let me know. I can help address any questions or concerns.

IEEE CIS provides a conference organizer tool (CIS CO-Tool) that provides up-to-date information about IEEE CIS rules, guidelines and hints for conference organization that may help you to create a strong proposal. The default CIS CO-Tool is publicly available at https://trello.com/b/nJVHx0tS/ieee-cis-conference. Note that all our organizers are provided with an event-specific CIS CO-Tool on approval providing all conference activities with actual deadlines relative to the event dates, as well as a handy downloadable calendar. The CIS CO-Tool may be shared with the organizing committee members so that, in addition to useful information, it can provide ease of training for less experienced members.

Proposals for all financially sponsored or technical co-sponsored conferences should be submitted according to the schedule indicated in the IEEE CIS Newsletter and in the Call for Proposals, so that they can be reviewed in a timely manner. The policies, procedures and budget worksheet for such proposals are available here. If you have any questions related to our conferences or want to know more about how to be involved in our activities, please feel free to contact me at l.l.minku@bham.ac.uk.
