The CIS University Curriculum Subcommittee (UCSC) is part of the CIS Education Committee and it promotes the development and proliferation of Computational Intelligence courses in the undergraduate and graduate curricula.

Goal Statement

Computational Intelligence is a research field, which has demonstrated explosive development since the 80's. Despite the fact that a significant amount of educational material is accessible and available, fundamental achievements have not been organized yet into a comprehensive CI curriculum due to the relative youth of the discipline. To give a prosperous future to the Computational Intelligence Society, we have to nurture undergraduate and graduate level students by means of standardized high-quality and effective courses and educational materials. The goal of the University Curriculum Subcommittee is to establish model curricula for bachelor and master CI courses, and to support university lecturers in creating CI courses as well as educational programs.

Current Activities

Are you teaching a CI course, and either some or all material can be accessed by interested learner free-of-charge? If this is the case, you are cordially invited to submit your course to the newly created subreddit! https://www.reddit.com/r/CompIntellCourses/

Or do you know of a great course? If so, then tell the teaching staff about this opportunity to (1) get some exposure and (2) contribute to the education of the general public!

Oh, you can of course point at your (free) MOOC as well, no worries! Also, we are open to information about individual courses (stand-alone units/modules with typical duration of 10-15 weeks) as well as information about entire programs which include a set of courses that lead to a degree/a major or minor etc. in computational intelligence related field.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are looking forward to exploring your course - and so will others!

Lastly, no society membership is needed to post details or to learn from the provided resources. We do this as volunteers, because we are passionate about what we do.
