Page Charges
Page Charges
After a manuscript has been accepted for publication, the author's company or institution will be requested to pay a voluntary charge of $110 per printed page to cover part of the cost of publication. Page charges for this Transactions, like those for journals of other professional societies, are not obligatory, nor is their payment a prerequisite for publication.
Mandatory Over-Length Page Charges. If the voluntary page charge is not honoured, the IEEE will impose a mandatory over-length page charge of $200 per page for each page in excess of the pages specified in the relevant category. Detailed instructions on payment of these charges will accompany the page proof.
Color Page Charges. Figures and photographs in black and white are not subject to additional charges. If color figures and photographs are included in the manuscript these will be made available in the on-line version of the manuscript but there will be an extra charge if color is required for the hard-copy version. If the hard-copy is produced as black and white, there will be no additional charges.
Prices for hard-copy color printing is available on request. Color figures are automatically posted in color on the IEEE Xplore website free of charge. The color-in-print charge is a flat rate of $275 per figure. The corresponding author of the article has the opportunity to address the color-in-print option during an “Article Setup” step. All invoices and payments are handled through an automated payment portal system. The payment portal allows various payment types such as credit card, bank wire transfers, check, preapproved waivers, special payment circumstances, and third party billing. Please note that these are costs for color printing and do not include page charges or reprint charges, which must be paid separately. Once your paper is received at the IEEE, a staff editor will contact you with specific instructions on how to proceed with color figures.
